How To Be A Positive Learner! Explanation Writing!

Being a positive learner is a good example for younger children. When you are setting an example, it gives you a very good feeling. Well, Today I hope to tell you how to be a successful, positive learner. The most important ideas are when you are a Self directed learner, having a Growth mind-set and being a balanced learner.

In my opinion, the importance of being a positive learner is being a self directed learner. A self directed student is when you know you can work independently and know when you need to ask somebody for help but not always go straight to the teacher. You need to be able to be organised and able to plan not just your day but your whole week. Using your initiative and your efficiency helps you to be independent and self guided in all matters but it is a very important key idea of being a self guided pupil. Usually, you will have tasks to do in McCahon Class. If you are self directed you will not need the teacher to help you.

Another important key idea of being a positive learner is having a growth mindset. Having a growth mind-set is a great ability to have. When you have a growth mind-set you do not say ‘I totally suck at Maths’ instead you say ‘what I am I missing’ and ‘How can I improve?’ The opposite of having a Growth Mind-set is having a fixed mind set. When I first heard of a fixed Mind set and a Growth mind-set I thought fixed mindset was a very good thing to have but obviously its not. I fixed mind is when you give up and don’t even try to improve. So now you know what kind of mindset you want.

Last but not least, having a balanced planner for your week is a very healthy routine. A balanced routine is when you get up and go outdoors, ITC work and read a book or even cook. In my opinion, I think that this will help you be active, an outgoing person and someone who has good marks in school. If you understand what it means to be a balanced learner, you would know that having a balanced amount of work and play is what it means.

Being a positive learner is a big part of your life. If you have the ability to be all of the above, you would be just like those examples when you grow up. Setting an example for younger ones will not only tell others you are responsible for your learning but that you know how to act and how it will affect others.

This is my Explanation writing on How To Be A Positive Learner, this is also my first Explanation work of the year. I found keeping up on time easy but generating supporting ideas was a bit hard for me. We having been working on this for the whole week. How do you think I went? Comment below!

Explain Everything Using Decimals!

This is my first Explain Everything video of 2015. This tutorial shows you how to use rounding and compensating when adding decimals. My two stars is that I loved that Explain Everything captured everything I drew on the Ipad and that I could change the colours I was first given. My wish for next time is that I stay still so that the speaker isn't blocked.

'I Love My Chromie' Stop Motion Movie!

I think that my group was very focussed and concentrated on creating our stop motion movie. We tried our hardest to work as a team and that helped us a lot. What I found very tricky for our whole team is that we kept on moving the camera and so our video looks a bit wobbly and jumpy. This was tricky because we needed to get close up photos and so we kept tilting the ipod forwards and sometimes backwards. So our next step is to make sure that we don’t move the ipods too much and be focussed at all times.
